If you are an Oakland resident, short- or long-term, there are several ways you can get involved in the community. "Keep It Clean, Oakland!" is one way to get involved, but there are other venues through which to get more acquainted with and move involved in the Oakland community planning processes, such as attending community meetings. There are several block clubs and neighborhood associations that meet regularly in Oakland. Please see below for more details.

Oakland Community Council
Oakland Community Council (OCC) is committed to improving the quality of life for all Oakland residents. OCC meets the second Monday of every month at 6pm at People's Oakland, located at 3433 Bates Street, which is on the corner of Bates and Coltart Streets. Attending OCC meetings can help you meet other homeowners and long-term residents of Oakland, hear about new projects in the area, and learn about how you can get involved in what's going on in the Oakland community. For more information, please contact Pam Eichenbaum, OCC Coordinator at 412-687-8568 or occ.pam@gmail.com.

South Oakland Community Development Team
The South Oakland Community Development Team (SOCDT) is committed to improving neighborhood conditions and the quality of life in the South Oakland community. Current projects of the SOCDT include planning the August 2008 Community Day celebration for South Oakland, repairing the Dan Marino Field House on Frazier Street, and reaching out to South Oakland residents about their various needs and concerns. SOCDT usually meets on the third Thursday of every month at 6:00pm at the Dan Marino Field House on Frazier Street. For more information, please email Kelly at kellyw@opdc.org or call at 412-621-7863.

Oakcliffe Housing Club
The Oakcliffe Housing Club (OHC) is committed to improving the neighborhood conditions in the Oakcliffe area of Oakland and works on projects such as the Lawn Street Community Garden and the upcoming Lawn Street Parklet. Representatives of the OHC are active in representing Oakland, and specifically Oakcliffe, at various community meetings and at city council hearings pertaining to Oakland. The OHC meets the third Wednesday of every month at 7pm at Community Human Services Corporation, located at 374 Lawn Street. For more information, please contact Richard Sass at richsass@pitt.edu.
