We're looking for volunteers, both groups and individuals, to help out for a four-hour shift at least one of the days. Volunteers will be helping with the following tasks: moving furniture, setting up furniture, cleaning furniture, coordinating deliveries, acting as sales associates, handing out food/refreshments, and helping to transport and move furniture as we deliver items to residences in Oakland and surrounding communities. We will have an enterprise truck and van, and provide OPDC drivers for both, to help make any deliveries. We just need extra people to go on the truck and van to get the furniture into and out of the vehicles for delivery. We need volunteers to commit to a 4-hour shift. Most shifts are 9-1, 1-5, and 5-9 on all three days, but we can be flexible with the times. This summer, we hope to collect over 400 items to be sold, all used and recycled, ready to be reused in apartments, houses and dorm rooms throughout Oakland and neighboring communities.
